"I had to let people hold me"

"I had to let people hold me"

Meet Marybeth, fully embodied above.

In July 2023, Marybeth made a bold move. After two years of thriving in London, she knew it was time for something more—a new chapter in her life. Despite loving her life in the UK, she felt a pull toward grounding herself, building a foundation, and creating the life she had envisioned: to be with someone, start a family, and share a home with that person. But for Marybeth, getting there meant facing the truth—where she had been standing in her own way.

“I wanted one thing—to be with someone, to build a foundation with someone. But living in London, I was chasing other things that weren’t aligned with that goal,” she shared. “Believe me, I had fun, but I also had to be real with myself, it wasn’t what I wanted. I had to be my own lifesaver.”

Marybeth’s ability to acknowledge these hard truths and take action is what makes her journey so powerful. She made the courageous decision to leave her job in November 2023, without a safety net. No job lined up, no permanent home—just faith in herself and the path she felt was right, despite others’ fears.

“People were worried for me,” she said. “But I had confidence in the face of that fear—mostly other people’s fear. I knew, deep down, this was the right thing for me, even in the face of the unknown.”

When we launched in November (11/11), Marybeth was our first customer, choosing a Trust Charm in Rose Quartz, a symbol of love, self-compassion, and finding romantic connection. She was drawn to its energy, knowing she needed a gentle reminder to trust her path—not just in finding love, but in nurturing a deeper love for herself.

A Leap of Faith and the Power of Vulnerability

Taking a sabbatical was more than just a career pause—it was an opportunity to reset, recenter, and embrace the vulnerability she had long avoided. For someone known as strong and resilient, opening herself up to receiving help and being vulnerable wasn’t easy.

“I’m not someone who takes support or help easily, and I don’t share deeply very often. It was humbling and uncomfortable at times,” Marybeth admits. “But if I wanted to get to where I wanted to be, I had to open myself up. I had to let people hold me.”

This openness led her to a somatic healing workshop, where she learned to connect with her emotions on a deeper level. It was through these experiences that Marybeth fully embraced the importance of being vulnerable—not just on the surface, but at the core. “I needed to be open, not just superficially. If I was going to reach the life I wanted, I had to be real with myself and others.”

The universe responded. Opportunities began to align in her favor. She found a new job, a new home, and entered a relationship built on trust and communication. However, the journey hasn’t been without its challenges.

The Ongoing Journey of Self-Trust and Self-Love

“I have a great relationship now, but it’s not always easy, and I still get in my own way,” she reflects. “I’ve learned to trust that if I share my truth and how I’m feeling, things will unfold the way they need to. And if not, I’ll be okay. If my partner isn’t receptive, we’ll have to have some hard conversations about our future together.

This level of self-trust and confidence is something Marybeth acknowledges she wouldn’t have had before.

“In the past, I would have been terrified that I’d be destroyed if I let someone in this deeply, scared of what would be left if this person wasn’t in my life. Now, I know that life will carry on, and I will too.”

Her journey is one of transformation, not just in external achievements but in the deep inner work she’s done. Through her commitment to self-love, vulnerability, and facing difficult truths, Marybeth’s life has aligned in ways she never imagined.

Lessons from Marybeth’s Journey

Reflecting on her journey, Marybeth shares some of the key lessons she’s learned along the way:

Trust in Myself:

“The trust I had in myself and the energy I created around me has been essential. Even when things made me nervous, I knew deep in my soul that I was on the right path.”

Facing Hard Truths:

“I’ve learned to acknowledge the truth, even when it’s hard—like seeing where I’ve been getting in my own way or where I’ve said I wanted one thing but was chasing something else. Even now, when things bother me, I sit with what’s really at the root.”

Confidence in the Face of Fear:

“It took me a minute to jump without a safety net, but I knew it was the path. That confidence in the face of fear, especially other people’s fear, is what carried me through.”

Openness to Receiving:

“Being vulnerable and open to receiving help was one of the hardest lessons. As someone who’s known for being strong, it was hard to accept that I needed to let others support me. But if I wanted to get where I needed to be, that was the path.”
